  Highly recommend. My Granddaughter held her wedding here and it was so sweet lovey food, and atmosphere indoor and out.

  Ate here today to celebrate my grandma's birthday. The restaurant is located inside a shopping area for little trinkets and fun finds. We were seated right away and our server was very kind to us the whole time. I tried the veggie lasagna special but wasn't too impressed. It was good but tasted exactly like Stouffer's frozen veggie lasagna. The rolls were homemade though and came out hot enough for the butter to melt on right away. The cute watermelon shapes were a fun touch though. Everyone else in my group seemed satisfied with their meals though and I was impressed with the paper straws and to go boxes. The dessert was tasty and I would try more if I didn't live over an hour away. Overall the atmosphere and dining area was homey, the service was good, the food was very meh in my opinion, and the dessert was saving grace. To pay, make sure to walk up to the register and don't expect the server to do that for you. I was happy to see my grandparents happy but I probably will not come back here again as it's far away and I wasn't crazy about it.

  I have enjoyed stopping in to Loafers Glory when I have visited over the years. They were closed for a few years and recently reopened. I went with some family and we enjoyed browsing the store. They have a lot of farm and country decor as well as some neat Michigan items.
  
  We decided to stop at the tea room about 3pm. 3 of us ordered hot tea and this is where things went downhill. We were brought cups with no saucers and one tiny pot of hot water for the 3 of us. One pot wasn't even enough for all of us. We had to ask a couple of times for another pot of hot water. They brought a bigger pot of water that was sufficient. We didn't know what to do with our tea bags with no saucers so we just put them on the tea bag paper.
  
  I ordered a side salad since I just wanted something small. Two of our party ordered ice cream and one ordered the chicken dumpling soup. My salad was very good and fresh and I recommend the mango vinaigrette which was very good. The soup looked good. Someone got the Michigan pothole ice cream and really liked it.
  
  Overall good experience, they just need to work out a few kinks with the tea room. I know they just recently reopened so that is probably why. It is definitely worth a stop and their baked goodhs look delicious too. They are apparently well known for their buttermilk pie. Be sure to stop in and loaf for an enjoyable afternoon if you are in the area!

  I really enjoy making the drive here with my Mom and sisters. It has become a bit of a tradition with us to make a trip in the fall and then we try again when their Christmas decorations are out for the season.
  
  They have pretty basic foods, nothing special really but always good. Their broccoli cheese soup is pretty good and their bread bowl is different than I have had elsewhere, it is soft rather than that hard outer shell. The smaller size is pretty easy to eat in its entirety for your meal.
  
  They serve water in these silver chalice's that are kind of heavy & just fun to drink out of!
  
  I am sad to say this place has recently closed. Hoping someone buys it & keeps it alive!!!

  I first became acquainted with Loafer's Glory back in the late 80's/early 90's...I can't remember how I found out about this place, but the description of an old small-town livery-turned-mini-mall of boutiques and eating spots sounded interesting, so I made the trek to the tiny village of Blanchard to check it out. What fun! This was back in the days of the Victorian revival, so there was a boutique of Victoriana; a jewelry and candle nook; a bakery; antiques; "country" home accessories; a soda fountain; a candy store; antiques; a restaurant with waitresses in period dress. The place was wall-to-wall shoppers, mostly female...there were even tour buses stopping in.
  
  Fast-forward to 2011. My partner and I, on an antiquing meander through central Michigan, decided to visit Blanchard, and we toyed with the idea of stopping for lunch at Loafer's Glory. What a disappointment. Certainly reflective of the state economy, the establishment has lost a lot of productive store space -- an outdoor antique barn was closed, as was a downstairs restaurant, and some of the little boutique spaces had been consolidated. We found hardly any antiques or domestic handmade craft items; instead lots of what we call CSFC -- cheap "stuff" from China. The old-times/good-times atmosphere seemed somewhat muddied. We were so disappointed, in fact, that we didn't stay for lunch. (And I will give a general shout-out here to the Wildfower Tea Room, in the middle of the buiding, for serving good light-luncheon food. The buttermilk pie is wonderful.)  
  
  What would I do to revive the fortunes of this place? I think the building and surrounds have potential. Maybe a small nursery around the barn area; maybe a quilt/yarn shop; maybe an art/craft gallery with an emphasis on local artists/artisans; maybe an area for local food artisans. (Thanks in part to its proximity to two state universities, there are a decent number of artists/artisans in this area.) I don't know. But I know that I don't appreciate visiting a business dedicated to "the good old days" only to find made-in-China merchandise.
